Description of Capability
- This functionality enables patients to view, download or transmit their health information from an online patient portal. The data available from the patient portal is retrieved upon request by the patient from the EHR.

Cost and Fees:
Clients are required to subscribe to a Monthly Provider License of Freedom | PM | EHR | ERX in order to possess the 2015 certified EHR technology capabilities. Provider licenses are charged on a per provider basis for (Full-Time / Part-Time) providers. Use of the following relied upon 3rd Party services is included in the monthly provider license subscription:
- DrFirst Rcopia
- EBSCO Patient Education Reference Center (PERC)
- EBSCO Dynamed
- IMO Procedure, Problem
- Medline Plus
- EMR Direct

Contractual Limitations

EMR Direct’s HISP Services are fully Direct Trust/EHNAC DTAAP accredited.
Pursuant to EMR Direct’s security policy, the Direct messaging capability is restricted, and users will be unable to exchange messages with users of third-party HISPs with whom EMR Direct does not have a trust agreement.
Should a provider wish to establish a new connection with a third-party HISP, the provider must submit a service request identifying the third-party HISP along with contact information for the HISP. EMR Direct will establish, maintain, and support technology to manage the connection. Third-party HISPs must agree to EMR Directs connection and trust agreement. EMR Direct will make every effort in good faith to establish such connectivity within a reasonable time frame. However, we do not warrant that EMR Direct will be able to establish agreements and required connections with all third-party HISPs.
Technical or Practical Limitations
Technical Limitations:
- This certified EHR uses the Patient Portal to allow patients to View, Download, and Transmit to 3rd Parties.
- Patient Portal access may be limited to the continental United States of America.
- This certified EHR requires patients to have internet access in order to obtain access to the patient portal feature.
Practical Limitations:
This certified EHR interacts with end-user devices when accessing the system via a secure encrypted connection. The EHR is designed to prevent electronic health information from being locally stored on end-user devices. End-users should take appropriate security precautions when saving reports or exporting data to end-user devices as this data is no longer within the EHR technologies’ control.
Providers wishing to utilize our integrated HISP services must notify our customer service department to request a direct address account to be created for their organization. Organizations interested must complete the following forms prior to receiving a direct address from EMR Direct:
- Verifiers List of Authorized Users LOA-3 Form
- phiCert Identify Verification – LOA3 In-Person – Notary Form
- phiCert Organizational Application LOA 3 In-Person Form
Upon successful completion of the above-mentioned forms, CCC Direct Administrators will notify you of your direct address credentials. Please allow sufficient time to complete the enrollment process and direct address setup. This is typically 30 days from notification but varies based on the accuracy of the information provided and the number of additional users that must be identity proofed.
