Aprill 2022 – Release Notes

Here’s an update of the recent product improvements we’ve made to Freedom Medical Systems® 6.0 during Q1 2022.

System Requirements

Freedom 6.0 does not fully support older browser versions. CCC recommends updating your browser to one of the following supported browsers and versions:

  • Google Chrome version 100 and above.
  • Microsoft Edge version 99 and above

Freedom 6.0 requires the following system configuration settings:

  • Javascript support must be enabled in order to utilize Freedom 6.0.
  • Configuration of browsers to open PDF documents in an external PDF viewer vs inside the browser.
  • Configuration of browser to allow pop-ups from “[*.]ccc-webservices.com”.
  • Minimum display resolution of 1360 x 960 pixels or greater.

User Requirements

Freedom 6.0 requires the following end-user prerequisites:

  • End-user must have a valid email address associated with their Freedom User ID.
  • End-user email address must be authenticated and verified using Freedom’s email verification process.
  • End-user must accept the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement (EULA).

What’s New

PM Updates

Future Appointments

The ability to search Future Appts was added to the App Menu (e.g., Hamburger Menu) under the Appointments menu option.

When selected, the Future Appointments Search screen appears, allowing a user to search for a patient’s future appointments anywhere in the system the App Menu is available.

Note: When launching the Future Appointment Search, Freedom will attempt to retain the most recent patient account accessed if available. If not, the Future Appointments Search screen supports the ability of a user to conduct manual patient searches as well.

Marital Status Field

The Marital Status field located on the Main tab of the patient demographics was updated to align with the HL7 v3.0 Marital Status standard.

The updated Marital Status has the following marital status options. Old values were automatically mapped to the New Code and Description.

Patient Main Tab

The Patient Main tab was updated to include a new Patient Address field.

Selecting the Address button to the right of the Address preview field will open the Patient’s Address screen where a user can add or update the patient’s address.

Patient Contacts Screen

The Patient Contacts screen was updated to include a new Contact’s Address field.

Selecting the Address Icon button to the right of the Address preview field will open the Contact’s Address screen where a user can add or update a contact’s address.

EHR Updates

The Demographic Ribbon in Freedom EHR now displays the patient’s name as a hyperlink.

When selected, the Patient Demographics screen will appear, permitting further review and editing of patient demographic information without the need to exit Freedom EHR.

A Patient Contacts button was added to the demographic ribbon.

When selected, the Patient Demographics screen will appear with the Patient Contacts tab selected, permitting further review and editing of patient contacts.

Tip: When working in Freedom EHR, the Patient Contacts button within the Demographic Ribbon is a quick and easy way to add additional patient contacts (e.g., spouse, siblings, parents, emergency contacts, etc.).

Messages

The Reminder Date field on the EHR Message screen was replaced with a date picker type field.

Orders

An Edit column was added to the Order > Attachments tab grid for all order types.

Selecting Edit opens the Attachment Update screen for the associated attachment without the need to navigate to Misc Records.

Plan

A new Add Diagnosis button was added to the Select Diagnosis For Plan screen.

When selected, the Assessment screen will open, so that users can easily add additional diagnoses to the plan.

From the assessment pop-up, user’s can add problems from the master problem list, search for new diagnoses codes, or select from predefined diagnoses categories.

Dashboard

The EHR Dashboard was updated to include new notification buttons across the top of the screen.

From left to right, the notification buttons include:

eRx – displays the number of e-prescribing notifications and is dependent on the View currently selected. When selected, Freedom launches the eRx notifications screen.

Pending Labs – displays the number of pending in-house and external lab orders that have not been completed. When selected, Freedom launches the Order Tracking screen with the in-house and external labs filter’s pre-selected.

Pending Consults – displays the number of pending consult orders that have not been completed. When selected, Freedom launches the Order Tracking screen with the consult filter pre-selected.

Pending Radiology – displays the number of pending in-house and external radiology orders that have not been completed. When selected, Freedom launches the Order Tracking screen with the in-house and external radiology filters pre-selected.

Pending Testing & Screening – displays the number of pending in-house and external testing orders as well as screening orders that have not been completed. When selected, Freedom launches the Order Tracking screen with in-house and external testing and screening order filters pre-selected.
